Shouting with a pink banner in hand, Kent State’s College students for a Democratic Society led protesters throughout campus to indicate their continued assist for reproductive rights two months after the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

On June 24, the USA Supreme Courtroom overturned Roe v. Wade, ending the constitutional proper to abortion in the USA. Sunday’s march started on the Ok in Risman Plaza at midday with a speech by SDS member Christian Heller.

After the speech, the group of about 25 protesters started marching towards the rock on the entrance of the campus chanting phrases like “Hey hey ho ho, the heartbeat payments have gotten to go!” and “They are saying there is no such thing as a selection, we are saying pro-choice!” The march concluded with members spray portray the rock.

Niesz Kutch inspired individuals to maintain talking out for abortion rights.

“The state of affairs has not modified; it is what individuals dwell with now,” she stated. “We won’t cease speaking about this.”

Harley Hill, a public well being freshman, attended the march to encourage others to be politically lively and present as much as vote.

“I hope that we are able to anger extra individuals to allow them to vote for democratic leaders,” Hill stated. “It is important that individuals vote to make it more durable to go such extremist laws… I do not know clarify to people who they need to care about individuals apart from themselves.”
